Ruesselsheim Galleries
The pictures in these galleries are inspired by Hans's experience of Rüsselssheim the German town, near Frankfurt am Main, he grew up in which is also home to the car manufacturer Opel. They deal with the town itself, Opel of the 50's and 60's, and the lives of the town's working families. Unsurprisingly many are strongly autobiographical.
Many of these pictures have been published in one of two catalogues, RüchSicht auf Rüsselssheim (1993) [Consider Rüsselssheim] and Erinnerung (1997) [Memories] that were produced in conjuction with exhibitions of Hans's work in Rüsselssheim curated by Dagmar Eichhorn and published by Opel.
A number of these paintings appear in the film Die Diebschlag Monologe (2007 director Michael Farquharson) see the Dreams of Adam gallery from more information about the film and Opel.
Due to the large number of these pictures they are divided between three galleries according to the date of completion.
