Ruesselsheim Galleries

The pictures in these galleries are inspired by Hans's experience of Rüsselsheim the German town, near Frankfurt am Main, in which he grew up and which is also home to the car manufacturer Opel. The pictures deal with the town itself, Opel of the 50's and 60's, and the lives of the town's working families. Not surprisingly many are strongly autobiographical.

Many of these pictures have been published in one of two catalogues, RüchSicht auf Rüsselsheim (1993) [Consider Rüsselsheim] and Erinnerung (1997) [Memories] that were produced in conjunction with exhibitions of Hans's work in Rüsselsheim curated by Dagmar Eichhorn and published by Opel.

A number of these paintings appear in the film Die Diebschlag Monologe (2008 director Michael Farquharson) see the Dreams of Adam gallery or exhibition pages from more information. The film is now on Michael's website.

Due to the number of these pictures they are divided between three galleries according to the date of completion.
